Through strategic partnerships and dedicated programs, we aim to foster talent, bridge gaps, upskill and create pathways to success. Below are some of our key projects and campaigns aimed at achieving these objectives.

The Dream Big Tech Hub, powered by Zaio Coding School

Overview:
The Dream Big Tech Hub serves as a dynamic platform for underprivileged youth passionate about technology and coding. Powered by Zaio Coding School, this initiative offers comprehensive training programs, workshops, and networking opportunities for aspiring tech enthusiasts.

Key Features:

  • 12-month curriculum: A MICT SETA/QCTO accredited program focused on Introduction to programming, Full-Stack web development, Data Science and Analytics as well as Cybersecurity and Ethical Hacking.
  • Training Programs/Project Based Learning: Tailored for different skill levels, hands-on exercises, and real-world projects. Regular assessments to track progress.
  • Career Development: Resume building, interview preparation, job placement. Aim to secure at least 50 internships per year with partner/placement organizations.

Impact:
The Dream Big Tech Hub will empower numerous youth to pursue careers in technology, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the digital age.

DBN Dream Women in STEM Technovation Summit 2025

Bringing together 50 young women from across KwaZulu-Natal, the 2025 Summit ignited innovation through three transformative days of mentorship, workshops, and hands-on STEM challenges. The “Technovation Challenge” inspired solutions addressing Sustainable Development Goals — proving that dreams can be engineered.

PMB Dream Women in STEM Technovation Summit 2024

Focused on empowering Grade 9–12 learners, the 2024 Summit showcased workshops, mentoring, and engineering design challenges. Participants collaborated to create solutions linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Dream Big Tech Hub Pilot – Lamontville 2023 powered by Zaio Institute of Technology

Hosted at the Lamontville Makhathini Centre, the two-day pilot programme powered by Zaio introduced over 40 youth to the fundamentals of web development — from HTML and CSS to understanding how the web works. Participants built their own virtual business cards while exploring pathways in software development and computer science.

2. Women In STEM

Women In STEM is a pioneering initiative aimed at promoting gender diversity and inclusion in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Through mentorship, advocacy, and educational programs, we strive to inspire and empower women to excel in STEM-related careers.

Key Features:

  • School Tours: Host informative STEM-related seminars and presentations at underprivileged Girl HighSchools across Kwa-Zulu Natal.
  • Dream Women In STEM Technovation Summit: A 4-day dynamic summit designed to ignite innovation, foster relationships, and empower the next generation of STEM leaders.
  • Mentorship Networks: Connecting aspiring female STEM professionals with seasoned mentors for guidance and support.

Impact:
The Women In STEM project has played a pivotal role in breaking barriers and empowering women to pursue their passions in traditionally male-dominated fields, fostering a more inclusive and diverse workforce.

3.Dream Women In STEM Technovation Summit

Overview:

The Dream Women In STEM Technovation Summit, held from June 26-28, 2024, was an inspiring and transformative event aimed at empowering young women in grades 9-12. Organized by Dream Big Stay Humble in collaboration with the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE), the summit brought together a diverse group of speakers and mentors to inspire, educate, and challenge the participants to think creatively and solve real-world problems.

Key Features:

  • The summit was designed to ignite innovation, foster relationships, and empower the next generation of STEM leaders.
  •  Opportunity and Mentorship Networks: Connecting aspiring female STEM professionals with seasoned mentors for guidance and support.

Impact:
Having over 50 beneficiaries, the Dream Women In STEM Technovation Summit has played a pivotal role in breaking barriers and empowering women to pursue their passions in traditionally male-dominated fields, fostering a more inclusive and diverse workforce.

4. Finance My Dream

Overview:

Finance My Dream is a hybrid tutoring initiative aimed at providing financial literacy and empowerment to matriculants from High Schools in underserved communities. Through curriculum tutoring, financial literacy, and mentorship, we aim to equip these learners with the knowledge and skills needed to do well in school as well as obtain financial skills before heading out into the working world. 

Key Features:

  • Tutoring: Offering curriculum tutoring for 4 days that is Monday – Thursday, the first half of the lesson we focus on Maths & English, and the last half of the lesson will focus on Financial Literacy.
  • Financial Literacy Workshops: Offering lessons and seminars on topics such as budgeting, saving, investing,and debt management.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Pairing participants with tutors and financial mentors who will provide personalized guidance and support on their academic and financial journey.

Impact:
Finance My Dream continues to upskill countless matriculants to take control of their academic and financial futures, break the cycle of poverty, and pursue their dreams with confidence and resilience.
